Welcome to the Keggi Orthopaedic Foundation
site. The Foundation is a non-profit, non-stock corporation dedicated to a
program of study and research in the field of orthopaedics and to the
dissemination of that information to the orthopaedic community of the
world through lectures, seminars, publications and Exchange Fellowships
between nations. In addition, The Keggi Orthopaedic Foundation is
extensively involved with general medical and educational programs in the
United States and abroad.
OUR MISSION
As dedication and commitment were the bricks and mortar of the KOF, it is hoped the Foundation and its endeavors will be the bricks and mortar of research, education, understanding and good will among orthopaedists and people around the world.
By sharing knowledge, research and surgical skills, the Keggi Orthopaedic Foundation will play a humanitarian role helping to develop better care for people everywhere.
We exist for these reasons:
- to ENCOURAGE education and study of orthopaedics
- to SPONSOR research in surgical techniques and ways to improve joint replacement and reconstructive surgery
- to PROVIDE research findings to orthopaedists through seminars, publications and published papers
- to FUND and sponsor Medical Exchange Fellowship Programs in the United States, Russia, the Baltic Nations, Vietnam and may benefit by teaching of advanced techniques in surgery and patient care

OUR PROGRAMS
Our total joint replacement research
program is done in conjunction with the Yale School of Medicine
and the Waterbury Hospital
Health Center.
Academic
Fellowship Exchange - The current exchange program is primarily
between the United States, Russia, the Baltic Nations and Vietnam

In accordance with our guiding principles, we endeavor

OUR ACHIEVEMENTS
- Continuing computerized studies of total joint replacement carried on in cooperation with the Department of Orthopaedics at the Yale University School of Medicine and the Joint Replacement Center at The Waterbury Hospital Health Center. As an Integral part of education and scientific debate these studies have been published and presented at national and international orthopaedic meetings.
- Since 1989 more than 300 foreign surgeons have trained with Dr. Keggi and other surgeons in Connecticut and in other hospitals across the country for periods up to four months.
- Dr. Kristpas Keggi has made numerous trips to Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Russia, Ukraine, Uzbekistan and Georgia to perform surgery and lecture. Dr. John Keggi and other American surgeons have made similar trips sponsored by the Keggi Orthopaedic Foundation.
- Both Drs. John Keggi and Ted Kennon are very active participants in the research programs of the Foundation.
OUR FOUNDATION
Perhaps the greatest reward is the
satisfaction of knowing this foundation is contributing to a world wide
body of medical and orthopaedic knowledge. Anyone associated with KOF
cantake pride in knowing they are helping medical expertise get to the
people where it can do a tremendous amount of good. It is truly a
humanitarian undertaking.
